Adding and Editing Transcriptions

Transcription in TwentyThree

When uploading a video to TwentyThree, you can create and add a transcription to enhance accessibility and value. Within minutes, a transcript of the video will be available, providing text-based content that improves comprehension, discoverability, and audience engagement.

How to Add Transcription

  1. Open the video you want to transcribe.
  2. Navigate to the Subtitles section and click on Start Transcription.
  3. The transcription process will begin in the default workspace language.


To change the workspace language, go to Video Section → Language and Time Zone. Alternatively, you can start transcription in a language other than the default by selecting it from the dropdown menu next to "Start Transcription."

How to Edit Transcription

Once the transcription process is completed, the transcript will appear in the Subtitles section, where you can review and correct inaccuracies before saving.

    Publishing Subtitles

    After completing and editing the transcription, you can publish it. Publishing automatically adds a Subtitle button to your video player, allowing viewers to toggle subtitles on or off as needed.

    How to Add Subtitles in Multiple Languages

    1. Once transcription is complete, go to the Subtitles page.
    2. Click Add Language and select from over 70 available languages.
    3. Translate the transcription into the chosen language.
    4. Edit the subtitles as needed, just as you would for the original transcription.


    Transcription Settings

    TwentyThree offers various settings to customize how transcriptions and subtitles are managed:

    • Enable Subtitles: Toggles the subtitle feature on or off.
    • Auto-Detect Language: Automatically uses the user’s default language when enabling captions.
    • Subtitles On by Default: Ensures subtitles are always enabled in the player by default.
    • Enable Auto Transcription: Automatically transcribes all newly uploaded videos in the workspace.
    • Glossary: Add internal naming conventions, technical terms, and names to improve transcription accuracy.
